Who Can Apply?

We welcome applicants from different academic, professional and personal backgrounds. Depending on the selected team, relevant fields may include migration studies, political science, psychology, sociology, public policy, communications, media, design, project management, civil society, community work and international relations.

Previous professional experience is valuable but not always required. Relevant academic work, volunteering, personal projects and transferable skills are also welcome.

We are particularly interested in people who:

  • Have a genuine interest in migration, inclusion, identity, belonging and public engagement
  • Can communicate respectfully across different backgrounds and perspectives
  • Value informed consent, confidentiality and participant boundaries
  • Are willing to work collaboratively across teams
  • Can communicate openly about their availability and responsibilities
  • Are motivated to contribute to a developing initiative

Volunteering Arrangement

All positions included in this call are voluntary and unpaid.

The roles are primarily remote, and responsibilities will be agreed upon according to each volunteer’s availability, skills and the current needs of the team. Applicants should be able to contribute consistently and participate in periodic online coordination meetings.

Volunteers will receive information about their responsibilities, reporting lines and Migration Nexus’s ethical working principles. Selected applicants may also complete a small role-relevant trial task before final role matching.
